Having an “Attitude of Gratitude” is a popular phrase in today’s world. What does that even mean?

While there is not an official definition in Webster’s Dictionary, in a nutshell… the phrase means making it a habit to express thankfulness and appreciation in all parts of your life, on a regular basis, for both the big and small things alike. (goodjob)

Gratitude is important because it allows you to increase your happiness by 25% (lifehack) and that can really improve your day.

Gratitude Quotes

Here are a few of my favorite gratitude quotes:

“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”
—William Arthur Ward

“Joy is the simplest form of gratitude.”
—Karl Barth

“When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.”
—Willie Nelson

And like many other things that we do, it requires practice. Below are some ways to practice having an Attitude of Gratitude everyday!

Gratitude Activities

Here are some activities to try…

Gratitude Journal

Get a notebook and write things in it that you are grateful for. (moments)

Jar of Thanks

Get a jar or container of some kind and write down on slips of paper what you are thankful or grateful for and put them in a jar. Take them out and share them at a specified time. (moments)

Thank You Notes

Sending a simple note of thanks to those you are thankful or grateful for. This can be as simple as thanking them for something they did that made your day or for just being themselves. (moments)
