Did you know you can check out eBook cookbooks from the Charles County Public Library? You can view them on your phone, computer, or Kindle.

Here are some tips on making your baking day with your kids a super delicious success:

  • It’s fun for kids to dress the part, so put those aprons on.

  • Get out all of your ingredients.

  • Depending on the age/skill level you can either have your little one measure out the ingredients or do it ahead of time.

  • Set up in a way that makes it easy for your child to help.  Perhaps sitting at the kitchen table is easier than standing on a stool to reach the counter.

  • Remember we all like to have control, so give some choices to your child. For example, let them pick out the recipe, let them dump the ingredients into the bowl, let them stir, and let them scoop the cookie dough.

  • Sometimes little helpers can be messy, but remember the whole point is to have a fun activity to do together and be honest – that floor probably needed to be swept anyway!

  • Why do those cookies taste so good? It’s because they are made with love!

To get a cookbook go to the CCPL website http://ccplonline.org/

In the search box type cookbooks.  Over to the left there will be options and you will check electronic resources. All of the materials listed can be accessed through either Hoopla https://www.hoopladigital.com/

Or Overdrive/Libby https://www.overdrive.com/apps/libby/?utm_medium=lightning_banner&utm_source=lightning&utm_campaign=libby

Or RB Digital https://smrla.rbdigital.com/

These digital resources are apps that can be downloaded on your phone or used through your web browser. The fun thing about eBooks is you do not have to go to the library to pick them up and they return automatically.

I hope you enjoy your cooking experience!
