Visit our Mobile Library information page for more information and to find a stop near you.

All branches are still open for Curbside Pickup. Appointments are no longer needed, but we do request that at least one hour notice be given prior to a pickup request. Click here for more information.

There are no limits to the number of people allowed inside our La Plata, PD Brown, Potomac or Waldorf West buildings.

However, due to the limited space available on the Mobile Library vehicle, we will be limiting the number of people allowed inside at one time.

If  you are not able to come into the branch and would like to check out materials, you can browse our catalog online, place a hold, and then arrange for pickup by calling your branch. You can also place holds through Live Web Chat or Telephone Reference. And don’t forget about the CCPL App where you can place holds, use all of our digital resources and use the self-checkout feature to check out materials. The Mobile Library and Outreach Van also have limited materials that can be recommended by staff. Visit our Mobile Library information page to find a stop near you.

Masks are no longer required in our facilities. This is following the updated CDC guidance on masks announced February 25, 2022, and recommendations from the Charles County Department of Health.

  • Cleaning and sanitizing of our facilities will be done by staff as needed
  • All of our branches have been retrofitted with Plexiglas® safety barriers
  • Self-serve cleaning materials for customers will be available to wipe down computer keyboards, mice, printers, chairs, and any other frequently touched surfaces
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout each building and masks will be available upon request
  • Drinks with lids are welcome. The P.D. Brown & Waldorf West branches welcome snacks in their vending areas.

All book drops at all of our branch buildings are open 24/7 and available for materials to be returned. Customers with appointments will be able to return their materials inside the building. Returns can also be made to the book drops.

CCPL is now fine free! Although we are no longer charging fines for late items, it is still important that you return your materials by the due dates so that we can keep our resources and materials available to everyone.

Due dates for most library materials were extended for a final time to May 1, 2021. No fines will be charged for overdue items, but fees for lost/damaged/never returned items still can be incurred. For more information on Fine Free click here.

Mobile Hotspots may be returned by coming to the branch where it was checked out or by visiting the Mobile Library or Outreach Van.
