The 24-Hour Library Kiosk is the newest project from the Charles County Public Library. Now open and located at the Nanjemoy Community Center, the Kiosk will not only serve as a satellite location in that part of the county by providing books for checkout, the kiosk itself will also provide Wi-Fi signal within a 100-yard radius of the machine, free of charge. The kiosk will allow patrons to check out items, return items, as well as place holds at other library locations and arrange for pick up at the kiosk…all from an easy-to-use touchscreen!

The 24-Hour Library Kiosk was made possible by funding approved from the Charles County Board of Commissioners. The location at the Nanjemoy Community Center was chosen because it is an area that does not have a CCPL branch building, but does have a community in need of access to library resources.

How to Use the 24-Hour Library Kiosk:

  • Browse selections through the kiosk window. To view more books, select “Show More Items” on the touchscreen to rotate the book shelves.
  • Select “Check Out” when ready.
  • Scan your library card, review your account, then select “Next”.
  • Enter the desired book slot number, then retrieve your book from the materials slot. If checking out multiple items, enter the next book slot number. Then select “Done”.

Please note the kiosk will not print any receipts.
