Fins Up! Sharks! Smiling Great White

Are there any other “Fin Fanatics” out there? If so, this is the post for you! Sharks are amazing creatures of the deep and the subject of much lore and many a movie. They even have an entire week dedicated to them. Every summer in July, Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel run a week of shark-themed shows. This year, Shark Week is 7/7/25-7/13/25.

Shark trackers allow you to see the location of sharks on a map. These sharks have been tagged by researchers for study. The Osearch Tracker tracks not only sharks but also sea turtles and dolphins.  According to the tracker Contender, a White Shark that is over 1,000 pounds was down near southern Florida in January, but as of May, they are hanging out off the coast of southern North Carolina.

Shark Cams

Several aquariums and other locales have shark cams installed so you can view sharks in real time.
