LA PLATA, Md. – The Charles County Public Library (CCPL) is thrilled to announce A Magical Evening at the Library, an after-hours fundraising celebration of imagination, creativity, and community.
The event will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Waldorf West branch, located at 10405 O’Donnell Place, Waldorf, MD. Guests will enjoy an exciting night beginning at 7:30 PM, filled with mind-bending entertainment, delicious food, and joyful surprises.
This signature event will feature Brian Curry, the nationally recognized magician and mentalist known as The Good Liar. Curry has delighted audiences across the region with clever humor, impossible predictions, and performances that keep people talking long after the show ends. The evening also includes savory bites and lively music provided by a guest DJ.
“A Magical Evening at the Library reflects what we believe a library can be: inspiring, welcoming, and full of possibility,” said KennethWayne Thompson, Executive Director of CCPL. “This event celebrates the library’s role as a trusted community anchor and supports the programs and services that help our residents learn, grow, and thrive.”

Proceeds from A Magical Evening at the Library will support library programs, services, and collections that fuel learning and creativity throughout Charles County. From first-time library users to lifelong readers, many have shared how CCPL has inspired growth, connection, and new opportunities.
