LA PLATA, Md. — Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai will appear in a live virtual talk hosted by the Charles County Public Library on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, at 7 p.m. The session will feature her reflections on her evolving identity, advocacy and new memoir “Finding My Way.”

Yousafzai, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for her global efforts promoting girls’ access to education, will take questions from registered attendees submitted in advance. The library is making this event available free of charge to the public, with advance registration required.
She rose to worldwide prominence after surviving an assassination attempt in 2012 by the Taliban in Pakistan, where she was targeted for speaking out on girls’ rights to education. At age 17, she became the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Over time, she has continued her advocacy through public speaking, policy engagement and leadership of the Malala Fund, an international nonprofit supporting girls’ education.
