Sharon Rabie from the Humane Society of Charles County presents a turkey to children at the Charles County Public Library Potomac Branch in Indian Head on Nov. 19. During the “Turkey in the Stacks” presentation, children learned about the history of this American bird, its life cycle and behavior and the special characteristics of wild and domesticated turkeys. Rabie also read a children’s turkey story before getting to touch a live turkey.
