I scream…you scream…we all scream for ice cream! It’s summertime, and what better way to celebrate the season and beat the heat than to learn about America’s favorite frozen treat? July is National Ice Cream Month, which makes it the perfect time to indulge in your favorite ice cream. In addition, the third Sunday of July (July 21, 2024) is National Ice Cream Day. 

Hello, my name is Miss Sara and in this blog, I will provide educational charts detailing the chemistry and history of ice cream, as well as fun ice cream facts. I will also provide links to articles outlining the evolution of ice cream, weird ice cream flavors and the most popular flavors in each state (as of July 2023). 

Also highlighted is a delicious ice cream recipe that you can try making at home (with the help of a parent or guardian) and some cheerful and charming ice cream books from our CCPL catalog.
