Spring Book Bazaars Return To Southern Maryland Libraries

SOUTHERN MARYLAND — Book lovers in Southern Maryland have two opportunities this spring to stock up on affordable reads while supporting their local libraries. The annual Spring Book Bazaars hosted by the Citizens for the Charles County Public Library and the Friends of the St. Mary’s County Library are set to offer books at unbeatable prices.
Charles County Spring Book Bazaar
The Citizens for the Charles County Public Library will host their Spring Book Bazaar from April 26 to May 3 at the La Plata Branch. The book bazaar raises funds that directly benefit programs, resources and events offered throughout the Charles County Public Library system. The Citizens group has supported the library for over 20 years through volunteer and fundraising efforts.
Schedule:
April 25: Members’ Day with exclusive early access
April 26 to May 3
Monday through Thursday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
May 2 and 3: Bag Days – fill a grocery-sized bag for $3 (larger bags cost more)
St. Mary’s County Spring Book Sale
The Friends of the St. Mary’s County Library will hold their Spring Book Sale from May 16 to 18 at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds. Proceeds help fund programming and services at all St. Mary’s County Library branches. Donations of gently used books are accepted in advance, and volunteers are encouraged to assist with event setup and staffing.
Schedule:
May 16 (Friday): Members only from noon to 8 p.m.
May 17 (Saturday): Open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
May 18 (Sunday): Open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. (Bag Sale Day!)
