Make a cute bird feeder for the birds you see in your yard with the simple materials you have on hand. For those birds who do stay behind, food is hard to find in the colder seasons. They will be happy and thankful. Did you know that not all birds migrate south for the winter? Migrate means to move from one region to another according to the seasons. Watch here on Kanopy Kids on why birds migrate and why it is important for their species. Migrating birds can travel thousands of miles until they meet the need to settle. Migrating also helps the environment by bringing new species of birds to the area every year. This little birdie can not decide which direction she wants to travel in here on COSMOS. Read on to see which direction she picks. Check out this neat website called Bird Cast, where you can see what types of birds are traveling according to the region where you live.
