March 30th is ‘Take a Walk in the Park Day’. Let’s celebrate it by going for a walk in a nearby park or trail! This may be one holiday that you will want to incorporate into your daily schedule! Did you know that there are numerous health benefits from walking at least three times a week for just a half hour? Increase your walking time and frequency and there are even more added health benefits such as staving off Type-2 diabetes, heart attacks, and strokes. Are you having a bad day and wish you could flip a switch to improve your mood? Try taking a ten-minute walk outside which has been proven to help calm your nervous system and to help regulate your mood.

Walking also helps improve your decision-making skills, enhances your creativity, and helps you sleep better! What are you waiting for? Grab your walking shoes and a friend and go check out a local park or trail! See the links below for local parks and trails.
