It’s summer, and it’s time to go outside and play. There are many ways to bring activities such as art outdoors and make it a nature-empowering experience. This blog contains books and project ideas to make a colorful splash this summer.

Here are a few fun ideas to bring art outside:

  • Hunt for the perfect rocks, and then get creative and paint them

  • Create and then go on a nature scavenger hunt

  • Paint with found materials like sticks and leaves

  • Squirt gun painting

  • Get some art supplies like chalk and make some sidewalk art

  • Go birdwatching and then draw or watercolor the birds you saw

  • Create a Plant Journal by looking for different grass, flowers, trees, and leaves, and then sketch what you find

  • Outdoor family paint night using glow-in-the-dark paints

Here’s an example of a scavenger hunt kit created from an egg carton. You can customize your hunt to include anything you want!
